Causey Development Trust’s AGM takes place on Monday 26 June, 7pm at the Southside Community Centre. The AGM will be followed by a short business meeting. All are welcome to attend.
It’s been a while since we were in touch with you but there has been plenty of activity.
City of Edinburgh Council published a Traffic Regulation Order last September focusing on the effect the proposed design would have on traffic management in West Crosscauseway. This consultation process gave residents, local people, business owners and organisations the opportunity to comment on the proposals for traffic movement in The Causey.
A number of concerns were raised and discussed, particularly with people directly affected in the street. CDT, and the designer (landscape architects, Ironside Farrar) in conjunction with CEC and our funders, has responded to these concerns with amended design proposals.
These new designs, with two options for traffic movement, were presented at a consultation event at the start of this month, where participants had the opportunity to ask the design team questions. CDT focused primarily on inviting to this event groups and individuals who had responded to last September’s TRO process.
We’re now awaiting a report from the Ironside Farrar on participant feedback from the recent consultation event. The next step will be to consult with our key stakeholders/funders, and the CDT steering group, to confirm a traffic flow option which will be taken forward to a new TRO consultation.
We will keep you informed as the process progresses.
